Sometimes, not always.

If you ever had a close look at the grasses waving in the wind, I bet you find it as mesmerizing as me. Moving with a motion I don’t even understand. The wind slowly bending them but they don’t snap, they keep strong but follow the rules of the wind…for now.

That’s exactly what you sometimes have to do. Sometimes you can just do as much as you can but it still doesn’t seem enough. Then it’s time to take a step back, overlook everything and rethink your strategy. Then it’s just better to go with the flow.

When it’s out of your hands to change anything then the only thing you can do is follow the wind of change. Just make sure you resist enough so you don’t give in and snap. Letting go of your control can feel very scary. But, you just don’t need to have control in everything.

Going with the flow can feel very liberating and gives you the space you need to focus on other important aspects of your life. Don’t waste time of being angry or upset. Put that energy in embracing the changes.

Accepting change

Going with the flow also means accepting change. Change you don’t always see as something positive and that frustrates you. But if you look deep enough, in every change you can find something positive.

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.

Lao-Tzu

Even we like the things just as they are, the chances are that they are bound to change, out of our control. You’ll never know when it’s going to happen, you just need to be aware that it will happen.

The world is an ever-changing place and we are just a tiny part of the bigger story. From the moment we can accept this, going with the flow will become much easier.

Find the right balance of resisting and letting go is the most crucial part, just as the grasses… bend but don’t snap.
